Preparing For Your Move

In order for your move to go as smoothly as possible, it is IMPORTANT that you read this page, and acknowledge every note, before employing our services. Thank you!

  • PLEASE HAVE A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE ON THE DAY OF YOUR MOVE: We can only give a window for our estimated time of arrival, and even that is not guaranteed! This is the nature of the biz. On the day of your move, please have patience and flexibility!

  • THE INVENTORY LIST DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT: We do ask that you please do your best! We go off the inventory you send us during the booking process. If we walk into a job that is noticeably different than discussed, it could set our day back with other clients! In these scenarios, we may change the rate, or refuse the additional items.

  • WE DO NOT MOVE HOARDERS: Sorry, but it’s a health and safety hazard.

  • THE LAZIER THE PACKJOB…THE LONGER THE MOVE TAKES: We do not want your move to take any longer than you do, so please pack correctly so we can get the move done quickly!

  • DO NOT SKIP PACKING BOXES: Moving trash bags takes ALOT more time than moving boxes, so please take the time to do it right! Pack your boxes, and make them stackable.

  • EMPTY YOUR DRAWERS: Make sure your belongings are boxed and secured. Your furniture may have to be tipped sideways or upside down, so we need it completely emptied!

  • LABEL YOUR BOXES: So, we can put them wherever they need to go! Also, please try not to make any boxes over 50 lbs.

  • SAFETY IS OUR #1 PRIORITY: Please make sure not to crowd us while we are working, and keep hallways clear of obstruction. Clients are also not allowed to step foot on the truck.

  • WE ASK CLIENTS TO REFRAIN FROM HELPING WITH THE MOVE: Too many people in the workspace can be dangerous. Clients who try to help usually just end up being in the way, so please relax and GIVE US SPACE ON THE JOB!

  • CHILDREN AND PETS must be out of the way while we are working.

  • WE ONLY RE-ASSEMBLE FURNITURE THAT WE HAVE DISASSEMBLED, for liability purposes.

  • DO MEASUREMENTS! If you're unsure about anything fitting where it is supposed to in your new space, check the measurements beforehand, or at least be ready for a plan B.

  • RESERVING TRUCK PARKING IS THE CLIENT'S RESPONSIBILITY. Please coordinate parking at your building for us on the day of your move. You can obtain a NO PARKING permit and signs from the city here.

  • DOES YOUR BUILDING HAVE A FREIGHT ELEVATOR? If your building has a freight elevator, please have a building staff member reserve/lock it off for us.

  • DO THEY NEED OUR CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE? Some properties require a specially issued COI from us that covers the building under our policy. If they do, please relay their instructions to us ASAP so we can get it issued in advance.

  • WE CANNOT TRANSPORT CLIENTS IN THE TRUCK. Please coordinate your own transportation between locations.

  • WE CANNOT TAKE CHECKS. We can take cash with no fee, and we can take Venmo, Cash App, credit and debit cards with a 4% fee.

  • WE HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY REGARDING DISRESPECT. Any type of behavior from the customer that may be considered disrespectful, abusive or aggressive, can (and probably will) result in termination of the job and forfeiture of the deposit. We DO enforce this policy and we demand basic respect from all customers at all times!

  • YES, MOVERS GET TIPS. This is a service industry, and it is common etiquette to tip movers! A general rule of thumb is 15-20% of your final balance, or $5-$10/hr per mover.
